Welcome to Limone Piemonte

Limone Piemonte today

With the historic center redeveloped and made welcoming again thanks to its almost total pedestrianization, the creation of free, easy-to-access parking lots on the outskirts of the town and near the start of the ski lifts, today Limone Piemonte guarantees tourists an atmosphere that is at the same time refined and simple, the result of an evolution respectful of the traditions of the past.

The town continues to develop, with new buildings built with contemporary criteria, in terms of aesthetic and energy impact.

At the same time, major investments were made to digitize the country and the entire ski area, with a foresight that is unmatched throughout the Italian Alps.

Today, also thanks to the shrewd interventions that the Municipality has carried out for the urban redevelopment of the historic center and the creation of digital infrastructures that make it one of the first smart locations in the entire Italian Alps, Limone Piemonte has consolidated its nature as a tourist resort open "all-year-round". It is part of the Alpine Pearls circuit, made up of nineteen locations in five countries of the Alpine arc that are committed to promoting environmentally friendly holidays and innovative mobility solutions to protect the environment.

Since 2019, Limone Piemonte has been certified with the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club for tourism-environmental quality. Among the reasons that led to the acceptance of Limone's candidacy, there is the ski offer of the White Reserve District which boasts about 80 km of slopes with numerous ski slopes and ski lifts, offering the opportunity to practice snowboarding, ice skating and ski mountaineering routes.

Limone Piemonte and events

Limone Piemonte animates its tourist seasons with many events: it is not just about mainly tourist events, which are also the most numerous and range from sport to culture, from hiking to activities for children.

There are also events with a strong identity and historical connotation, such as the feast of the Abaya which is held every year on the last Sunday of August and which was established in 1529 as a moment of celebration of the muleteers - it is said that at the time there were more than five hundred the mules at the same time "in service" on the route - carrying the goods across the Colle di Tenda pass.
